If you’ve ordered an MMU3 like we have, you may have been informed by now that there are further delays to getting the thing finalised to work with the MK4.

MMU-less MK4 waiting for some action

I understand this is to do with the extra long nozzlage (made that up) on the Nextruder.

Apparently they have changed the way purge/retract/ramming/whatever happens in the MK4 version compared to the MK3, because of some issues they were having. And apparently that will save material too – cool.

Looks like the kind of thing I’d do

Obviously like everyone else, I’m impatient and I want to try the MMU3 out, but I’m not impatient enough to want an unreliable MMU – that would be annoying. The Bambu AMS is, at times, a little tetchy, albeit currently the most reliable system on the market (apparently?) – I am hoping the MMU3 will be able to at least perform as reliably as that, and the reports are that it does, on the MK3.

Anyway – PRUSA absolutely don’t have to compensate users at all for a minor delay but they are issuing $50 vouchers to anyone who has a preorder as of the announcement.

Maybe I’ll put it towards a MK3 so I can try out the MMU sooner 🙂

If you want to read the full announcement it’s here
